One of the arguably most important parts of creating a film is choosing the best possible settings to follow along with the narrative in the most accurate way. For my film project, I need 5 total different settings. These include Charlottes bedroom, Graces bedroom, the outside of a high school, a hallway in the high school, and lastly a street in a neighborhood. All of these settings have to contain good areas to film from in order to get proper angles and lighting in all scenes.
The first scene will be filmed in Charlotte's bedroom where she is woken up and gets ready for school. The room should have bright lighting to give off a positive connotation and show that she is the protagonist of the film and a happy character. It should also have hints of pink around the room since the color pink gives off innocence and femineity.

The next setting will be where Grace is murdered by the stalker. This room also needs to have girly features but more darker tones and colors in some areas to incorporate subconscious feelings of danger, mystery, and seriousness since a murder is about to occur. The lighting in this room does not need to be as bright but still bright enough to film the events and shots with good quality to exemplify the character's features and small details.

Next, the scene filmed in front of a high school is brief but important to encouraging the audiences understanding of the character types of the film. Here, Grace can be identified as the skeptic character of the narrative and their personalities are revealed further. More high-key lighting is needed here to show off the background features and give more details into the charters lives. I will be utilizing the front of my high school which is perfect with lots of open space where different shots and camerawork can be done to better the overall production of the opening sequence.

Continuing, the hallway scene is very important to creating tension and suspicion for the antagonist because this is where the threat begins to be officially established as he watches the girl. The hallway will need to be completely empty besides the two characters to make the scene more mysterious and anxiety-raising for viewers. For this scene, angles have to be prioritized to convey subtle messages to audiences about the underlying plot that hasn't been clearly identified or explained.

Finally, the last necessary setting is a street that is meant to be in front of Charlotte's house. This is where viewers first start to see the thriller/horror aspect of the plot and understand that the narrative runs deeper than initially showed. Natural lighting will work best for this to not give away any specific connotations to keep temporarily neutral feelings in viewers as they wait to discover what will occur. Filming this in a simple suburban neighborhood helps convey the idea that she is supposedly just a normal teenager living a basic life before the events of my project's plot unfold.
