For the next character in my film project, she will be the best friend of my protagonist Charlotte. This character will be named Grace and be a teenage girl as well. My intention for her look is darker hair and a louder personality than Charlotte but still remaining mature and intelligent. Grace will also be viewed as more of an extrovert to create contrast with Grace but also having many personality features similar to her in order to show the value in their friendship. Grace may only be featured during the filming sequence I will be actually creating with her death at the end, she is still an extremely important character who must be well portrayed in order to keep the audience intersected as the plot progresses. I also want this character to be loved by the audience to so that they may feel sympathy for her and her loved ones after the murder. Some examples of other characters that served as inspiration for Grace are Alexa from "Alexa & Katie," and Mia Thermopolis from "The Princess Diaries." These are both upbeat characters with happy energy that many viewers learn to love.
Continuing, Grace's character type in the narrative would be the skeptic. During my film project, this will become clear through her repetitive doubting of Charlotte's suspicions. This is because of her trust in logic and intelligence. Her realization moment will be she receives the texts from the antagonist as he stands behind her and watches her. Grace's character is meant to be a solid and reliable friend so that when Charlotte loses her, she ends up in both internal and external conflicts that ultimately change the course of events throughout the film. Her death will create feelings of anxiety and loss within the audience themselves because they barely got to know a vital character with the kind of personality that attracts people. While feeling this loss, the viewers will also start to stress over why she was killed or who will be next, keeping them invested. Overall, Grace will a very important character to the plot and the inspiration behind the other characters motivations.
