The characters that will be included in my project are, the protagonist Charlotte, her best friend Grace, and finally the stalker who is the antagonist. For the character of Charlotte, I would like her to be a teenage girl with blonde hair and blue eyes who speaks with slight confidence. The physical appearance of this character is meant to represent the look of an average, stereotypical idea of a teenage girl in society being put together and pretty.
By doing this, I can add conventions to the film like make-up or pretty clothes with the intention of playing into the ideas that all teenage girls are obsessed their appearance and others views of them without any other care in the world. This will also contrast with ageism perspectives like how teenagers are irresponsible, messy and succumb to negative influences. My main goal with these stereotypes is to develop a relatable character for viewers that they can feel connected too while staying engaged with the film and its plot.
For Charlotte's personality, she should be seen as intelligent, kind and a good friend. She also needs to have an innocent but strong feeling to her so that her character can develop throughout the events of the film. In the film, Charlotte would take the "Hesitant Hero" character type because she will be reluctant to face the threat but eventually forced to go up against the antagonist even though she wishes she could leave and move on with her life, forgetting anything ever happened.
Some examples of film characters I got my inspiration from are, Katie from the TV show "Alexa & Katie," Hermione Granger from the "Harry Potter" franchise, and Belle from "Beauty and the Beast." All of these are very smart and resilient characters who help in resolving major issues while going through different conflicts. These characters were also often underestimated in certain events of their stories which can also be applied to my protagonists intended character development and internal dilemmas.
